Today, Sri Venkat S. Medapati, President APNRT Society and Sri K. Dinesh Kumar, CEO APNRT Society, attended a state level hybrid consultation at Vijayawada organized by International Labour Organization (ILO) along with state department of Labour, Skills and Police Protector of Emigrants, State-run recruitment agency OMCAP to create a common understanding of the challenges to accessing decent work opportunities and promoting mobility with dignity & choice for women migrant workers. Sri Venkat Medapati explained about various services offered by APNRTS along with measures taken to promote safe migration and also about the problems faced by domestic migrant women in the Gulf countries along with ways to address the ill treatment by the sponsors abroad. Sri Dinesh Kumar explained about the grievances of women resolved by APNRTS, about the Safe Awareness Campaigns, various APNRTS services statistics etc. It was agreed that APNRTS will work with ILO, MEA, Govt. organizations, other stakeholders etc. in creating a safe and secure environment for migrating women. Mr Igor Bosc, Chief Technical Advisor, ILO, Beirut, Ms. Neha Wadhawan, National Project Coordinator, ILO, officials from MEA, Protector of Emigrants, OMCAP, Department of Labour, NGOs and other stakeholders participated in this meeting.
